Weed detection

For a good yield, prevention of weeds is one of the major tasks. Weed detection and prevention is difficult to discriminate from crops, so machine learning using sensors is used. This technique leads to precise detection and prevention of weeds with less expenditure and also it does not harm the environment.

• Pantazi et al. (2017) used remote sensing for discrimination of species and for operational weed mapping. Exposure and mapping of Silybum marianum weed patches by means of ordered self-​organizing map is reported using a multivisionary camera which gives high-​resolution images carried by Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS).
