Farming in Rajasthan is barely successful. The main cause for the failure of farming techniques is the wrong predictions. These unforeseeable situations are forcing many of the farmers to even take their own lives as they are unable to bear the enormous losses. Hence, we need to keep the essential parameters of agriculture in our mind such as the soil quality and its water content. For a place such as Rajasthan we are already facing the major problem of water scarcity. We have therefore come up with a unique idea of applying internet of things (IoT) in crop monitoring and introducing new techniques of smart farming which could help our farmers to improve their crop production. A solution is offered to the problem of water scarcity so that healthy crops can be cultivated with minimal attention given by the farmer. The main aim of this study is to provide farmers with accurate knowledge of water content in the soil and help these farmers to become financially secure. This work also focusses on designing a cost-efficient way to utilize the in-hand available resources. In Figure 10.1it is depicted how the proper levels of soil moisture affect crop generation, that is, adequate moisture level in soil helps in producing healthy crops, whereas inappropriate moisture produces unhealthy crops. Our provided solution is responsible for first measuring the soil moisture level and then accordingly releasing water to the fields so that no wastage occurs. It will also alert the farmers about the quality of the soil and the level of water present in the tank. This shows how digital farming has become a boon for the agriculture business. The most vital outcome of this technology is healthy crops with less supervision of fields by the farmers.

In Rajasthan, still the old mundane ways of crop generation are used. We have observed this by constantly monitoring the farms near our university. The uncertainty in crop generation is also because of the lack of knowledge among the farmers; therefore, we need to step up and provide them with the necessary skills. In Rajasthan, as we know and mentioned in the previous references too, water scarcity has always been the major problem that affects soil composition and quality. The lack of providing a feasible solution is still the dire need to keep a check on our farmers’ worst situations.

This work aims to bring in notice there has been a big improvement towards the mental health of the farmers who were earlier suffering a lot. It will provide them with a solution to their foremost problem of water scarcity and lay in front of them various methods so as to eradicate the crises completely.

The aforementioned method will also help in making these farmers much more financially secure and independent. They will become aware about the proper utilization of the resources in a proper planned manner and also how to develop crops in a cost-effective way.
