The purpose of this appendix is to provide insight into how the update to The Standard for Project Management was developed. Content includes:

• Rationale for a move to a principle-based standard,
• Overview of the research conducted prior to the development of the standard,
• Description of how the standard was developed, and
• Information on how the content in the standard was validated.
