In this process, a photographic negative film is made that contains the accurate image of the part to be made. The negative is used as component images on to a metal sheet that is covered with a photographic resisting coating as shown in Figure 23.6. When it is exposed to ultraviolet light, the coating on the metal panel becomes a polymerized layer and acts as a barrier to the etching solution. Now the panel is developed in a spray to remove the coating, except in the areas of the workpiece that have been converted into etch-resistant images. After spraying, both side of the metal are washed and dried.
