Various Heads and Efficiencies of Centrifugal Pump

Suction Head (h_s): It is height of centre (eye) of pump from water level.

Delivery Head (h_d): It is height of the tank from centre of the pump.

Static Head (H_s): It is sum of suction and delivery heads, i.e., H_s = h_s + h_d.

Manometric Head (H_m): It is the head against which a centrifugal pump has to work.

where subscript o is used for outlet and i is used for inlet.

where h_fs is friction loss insuction pipe; h_fd is friction loss in delivery pipe, and V_d is discharge velocity
